Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix has ruled out fans for its August race following similar moves in Austria and Britain.
The race at the Hungaroring is still due to take place on August the 2nd, but on Thursday the Hungarian government said that events with more than 500 people cannot be held until August the 15th.
Therefore organizers announced on Friday that any race in Hungary can now only be held behind closed doors. Thats while Formula One has yet to publish a revised calendar and Hungary could now be pushed back to later in August, given that even a closed-doors-race would comfortably break the 500 people limit.
The preceding events in Austria and Britain have already confirmed they will take place without fans. In the meantime teams are on an extended factory shutdown that could run into June with five of the seven British-based outfits furloughing staff to save money.
